About the company
Our clients journey started back in 2008 with the formation of a JV partnership between two large FMCG businesses. You will know one very well here in NZ! The JV has been incredibly successful, and the business has rapidly grown to market leader position. Due to this success the two companies have extended the JV and created another business, which has taken the learning and knowledge and applied it to other markets around the world. This company currently operates in Canada, Mexico, Western Europe, Australia and NZ!
The new company launched in Australia in 2011 and now employs 60+ people across 2 offices, is already #1 market share leaders in their categories and has performed incredibly successfully, hence why they launched into NZ less than 2 years ago.
About the role
SO.. what does that mean – some of the foundations have already been laid so you will take the rolling start and turn this into a profitable operating business - with support from Australia of course.
You will lead and own the 10-year business plan, you will build strong customer relationships, you will develop other channels outside of retail increasing distribution footprint. You will complete monthly forecast sales, expenses and profit, manage supply chain in conjunction with AU, including international logistics, as the business grows, you will build an engaged team around you, and in conjunction with AU build all necessary business support functions.
Right now that means....we need someone who is smart, probably out of FMCG sales or marketing backgrounds. Someone who has relationships with the retailers and can hold their own with anyone and be credible, even if your experience hasn't allowed that yet.
To begin with you will have a small team - so rolling your sleeves up and being involved with everything won't faze you - it will excite you - BUT equally as the business grows, and it will grow and possibly very quickly, you will need to be able to grow with it. We're looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can use their own initiative and is able to make decisions based on logical assumptions and which reflect an 'out of the box' type thinking. You'll have a love of International Foods that's infectious and people naturally want to listen to you and follow you. You'll be financially and commercially savvy and it would be amazing if you had some cross functional skills and a desire to be a GM at some stage - BUT - you're not there yet, it's in your plan but you are still working your way up to that!
