National Account Manager

Our clients journey started back in 2008 with the formation of a JV partnership between two large FMCG businesses. You will know one very well here in NZ! The JV has been incredibly successful and the business has rapidly grown to market leader position. Due to this success the two companies have extended the JV and created another business, which has taken the learning and knowledge and applied it to other markets around the world. This company currently operates in Canada, Mexico, Western Europe, Australia and now NZ!
The new company launched in Australia in 2011 and now employs 60 people across 2 offices, is already #1 market share leaders in their categories and has performed incredibly successfully. Now launched in NZ they are growing at a phenomenal rate and need a savvy National Account Manager to help develop market leadership.
This is a role that you truly sink your teeth into - you can make a difference simply by doing what you say you are going to do, building strong customer relationships and bringing a disciplined approach to your accounts.

You will need to be analytical, savvy, focused and driven. You will love being busy, and will enjoy really getting amongst your accounts and constantly looking for ways to add value - whether that's through well thought through promotional programmes or building brand presence in all sorts of other ways; regardless, being competitive and wanting to be the best National Account Manager you can be is just part of your nature.
Ideally, you will currently be an experienced Key Account Manager looking to broaden your skill set and work in a more nimble and agile environment.  Above all else, you will be able to demonstrate the attributes above, be intellectually agile, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be hungry to keep growing your career.
Right now that means....we need someone who is smart, out of FMCG sales or category backgrounds. Someone who has relationships with the retailers and can hold their own with anyone and be credible, even if your experience hasn't allowed that yet.
To begin with it will just be you - so rolling your sleeves up and being involved with everything won't faze you - it will excite you - BUT equally as the business grows, (and it is growing quickly) you will need to be able to grow with it. We're looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can use their own initiative and is able to make decisions based on logical assumptions and which reflect an 'out of the box' type thinking.
