About the Role: 
This is a newly created role that sits within the enterprise data team at this organisation, offering the opportunity to have a direct impact on high-profile projects from day one. The role offers hybrid working and requires you to be based in Auckland.  

The purpose of the role is to help execute the Data & BI roadmap through modelling, transforming, testing and deploying robust enterprise data solutions. You’ll work within a collaborative Analytics Engineering team of four and under the guidance of an experienced Lead. As a Senior you will be expected to have a desire to mentor and coach the junior members through technical leadership. 

What you’ll be doing:
  • Data Modelling: Transform data, design and build dimensional data models (e.g. star schemas) in dbt and Snowflake — this will form the majority of your work.
  • Cross-Functional Data Projects: Support initiatives such as finance data transformation, digital platform integrations, and viewership data integrations. 
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Engage in daily stand-ups and contribute to a collaborative team culture. While you won’t present insights to the wider business, you’ll play a key role within the team and are expected to mentor others. You don’t need prior coaching experience but must have the willingness to step up and support others.
  • Data Delivery: Assist with dashboard development and occasional ad-hoc analysis alongside the BI team.

About You: 
To be considered for this role, you will bring the following experience:
  • Experience in a large enterprise business working with databases, Business Intelligence tools and analysis.
  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt and Snowflake (Intermediate to Advanced).
  • Proven ability to model data effectively. 
  • Good understanding of ETL processes & data architecture. 
  • Excellent technical proficiency with coding languages such as SQL or Python.
  • Experience with data visualisations - Power BI preferred. 
  • Excellent communicator comfortable working in team-based environments. 
  • Previous experience leading projects or initiatives — formal leadership not required.
  • Willingness to support or mentor other team members and help lift the wider team capability.
