About the Role
- Reporting into the Head of Education and Engagement, based in Christchurch, the Regional Director (South) plays a pivotal role in leading and delivering education and engagement programmes across the South Island and lower central North Island (Palmerston North down) regions. This role works alongside the experienced Regional Director (North).
- This role is two-fold. Firstly, to lead your regions education and engagement programme of work with a variety of ICT products and solutions and secondly, to manage a small team of talented School Relationship Managers in your regional team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of three high-performing team of School Relationship Managers and three Associate Relationship Managers located nationally, mentoring and supporting them to succeed.
- Building strong relationships with schools, kura, IT providers, sector groups and the Ministry of Education to ensure engagement objectives are achieved.
- Acting as the voice of the organisation regionally, presenting at events, conferences, and sector forums.
- Driving regional engagement plans, ensuring schools receive the right level of support and service.
- Overseeing performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in line with organisational goals.
- Contributing to the Christchurch office culture, fostering collaboration across teams.
- This role comes with a company car and requires regular travel, including overnight trips within your region.
About You
You are based in Christchurch. We’re looking for a natural connector and leader who thrives at the intersection of education and technology. You will have proven leadership experience ideally in the ICT and Education sectors.
You’ll bring:
- Proven leadership experience, mentoring and developing high-performing teams. You will also have proven experience in manging a wide range of stakeholders and customers, balancing diverse expectations and delivering successful outcomes for all parties
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels across the education and ICT sectors.
- Experience with ICT products and solutions – you don’t need to be a technician, but you can confidently talk to partners about technology and its benefits.
- Experience in (or a deep understanding of) the education system in Aotearoa, with a genuine passion for supporting digital learning.
- Confidence representing the organisation at events and speaking in public forums.
- You will be a passionate key player delivering smarter, simpler digital technologies to schools and kura so they can focus on teaching and learning.
- A good cultural awareness of Aotearoa New Zealand, including knowledge of te ao Māori and commitment to furthering your understanding of te reo Māori.
