Mō te tūranga  | About the Role:

Working within a collaborative lecturing team based in Ōtepoti Dunedin, the Pouako will deliver effective teacher education to tauira and, as part of a vibrant Pouako team based across the motu, will provide cultural expertise and leadership in mātauranga Māori me te reo Māori. You’ll complete or contribute to research activities and will participate in professional contributions.


Mōu | About You:

You will be looking for the opportunity to move into a lecturing role or may currently be a lecturer looking to move to a new kaupapa or extend into a more senior level of responsibility. You could have a background in ECE or primary school teaching and will have experience or an interest in teaching adults at a tertiary level. Full teacher certification and a current practising certificate is required. To fulfil the te ao Māori component of the mahi, you’ll be able to undertake a conversation in te reo Māori, have authentic knowledge of tikanga within the Ōtepoti rohe and the ability to contextualise these into an early childhood education setting. Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be needed.
