About the Role:
Reporting to the Board Chair, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Acorn Group—leading a high-performing team of around 20 people and championing a diverse portfolio of international food brands across New Zealand. Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the advisory board to shape and deliver the company’s strategy, with strong communication and reporting to stakeholders
- Lead with a sales and marketing mindset, focusing on practical, results-driven business growth
- Build a high-performance team culture where people thrive and consistently achieve great results
- Grow the business by using strong knowledge of the NZ FMCG market, developing supplier relationships, and securing new brand partnerships
- Combine instinct and experience with data and customer insights to guide smart business decisions
- Use strong financial skills to manage budgets, cash flow, and performance, ensuring sustainable growth
- Take a key role in driving the company’s long-term growth and success
About You:
