An industry-leading infrastructure provider is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its dynamic Financial Control team. This role is key to ensuring the integrity, compliance, and accuracy of group financial reporting while supporting strategic decision-making through insightful analysis and continuous improvement of financial processes.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Group Reporting & Consolidation: Lead the preparation of monthly consolidated results, half-year, and year-end statutory reporting.
  • Audit & Compliance: Own the external audit process, ensuring delivery of audit-quality technical accounting papers and compliance with NZ IFRS, NZX, FMA, and IRD standards.
  • Technical Accounting: Provide proactive guidance on complex accounting issues arising from new standards, business contracts, or process changes.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance the integrity of the General Ledger through strong internal controls, automation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Systems & Continuous Improvement: Champion finance system efficiency and accuracy across ERP and reporting platforms, including SAP, Blackline, and G-Treasury.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

What you’ll bring:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in senior financial accounting, preferably in a listed or regulated business
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including NZ IFRS and financial governance requirements
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), Blackline, and Treasury systems is a bonus
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage across all levels of the business
