About the Role:
This newly created Head of People role will lead our people function with a focus on creating the culture and environment that enables the organisation to deliver Reporting to the CEO, you’ll oversee end-to-end delivery of employment relations, recruitment, learning and development, workforce planning, and people operations. You’ll be hands-on in embedding good practice, resolving issues early, and ensuring scalable, practical solutions for our diverse, dispersed teams. Success will require building trusted relationships with operational and union partners, delivering measurable improvements in people systems, and enabling leaders with the tools and support they need to deliver excellent care.
About You:
You’re an experienced commercial operational HR leader with employment relations expertise and a proven ability to partner with operational leaders, high-volume service environments. You bring a practical, delivery-focused approach, thriving on making systems work in real-world conditions. Your track record includes unifying people processes across dispersed teams, leading constructive union engagement, and driving improvements in recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and performance systems. Calm under pressure, you can balance day-to-day delivery with embedding long-term capability. You’ll be commercially pragmatic, relationship-driven, and credible with executives, frontline leaders, and union partners alike—ready to make a tangible impact on one of New Zealand’s largest home-based health providers.
