Apply
About the Company:
Our client is a purpose-driven, national organisation that has experienced growth. With a workforce of around 300 people across three locations, they are delivering on ambitious projects that make a meaningful impact in New Zealand. They are proud of their culture and values, and are now looking to strengthen how they connect and engage with their people across the country. With plenty of projects on the go and a team passionate about making an impact, the time is right to bring more clarity and connection to the way they communicate internally. This is where this role comes in.

About the Role:
This is a senior strategic and hands on internal communications role where you’ll help shape how the organisation connects with its people. You will do a discovery period and then present a strategic plan, then create and set up tools to implement the internal comms plan for the team to manage in the future. Over a 3-month contract (part time in the Auckland office at 24 hours per week), you’ll:
  • Take a fresh look at how communication happens today, and what’s needed for the future.
  • Create a practical strategy and rhythms that make communication clear, engaging, and accessible for everyone.
  • Design tools and frameworks that leaders and teams can use every day.
  • Support and coach colleagues and leaders so they feel confident and capable in their communication.
  • Bring people together around shared goals, successes, and the bigger picture.

Beyond the initial contract, there’s potential for you to stay connected with the team on an ongoing part-time basis (approximately 2 hours a month), continuing to provide advice and guidance as needed.

About You:
You’re someone who loves bringing people along on the journey. You must have a background in mainly internal communications, you know how to balance strategy with getting things done. You’ll bring:
  • Experience building internal comms approaches in growing or complex organisations.
  • A warm, collaborative style that helps you connect with leaders and teams at all levels.
  • The ability to coach, guide, and influence – while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver.
  • Confidence working with dispersed workforces and using different channels and tools.
  • A knack for making communication simple, clear, and human.
This is a chance to make a real difference in a purpose-driven organisation, setting them up with the clarity and tools they need to keep their people connected and inspired.
