Junior Legal Counsel
ApplyAbout the Company:
This organisation operates nationwide and has a core commercial focus. It’s one of New Zealand’s most recognised brands within their industry and has received several industry Awards on the back of their achievements.
About the Role:
As a Junior Legal Counsel, this is an opportunity to step into a standalone role and take full ownership of providing general legal advice, drafting commercial contracts and manage relevant legal compliance as needed. This includes (but is not limited to) leases and licensing, sale and purchase agreements as well as various intellectual property matters and dispute resolution.
This role is pivotal across the business and will frequently liaise with both internal as well as external key stakeholders. For that reason, it will be based in the office full time but does offer flexibility in hours (within reason).
It’s a fantastic opportunity for either a junior lawyer with 1-3 years of PQE who is looking to spread their wings in an in-house role, or, for a more experienced Legal Counsel who is looking for a low-stress type of role.
About You:
We are looking for someone who holds a NZ Law Degree and can practice law in NZ. General knowledge of Commercial Law, gained via another in-house role or within private practice, is required. You will have proven experience drafting either general and/or real estate related contracts.
Previous experience in real estate regulatory matters would be an advantage but is not essential.
You must have the confidence to provide sound legal advice to a wide range of stakeholders, while also building strong rapport and relationships. This is very much a support role that is enabling the rest of the business to operate and the ability to quickly build a bond with stakeholders is therefore key.
