About the Company:
Our client is a company that is committed to creating a sustainable future. The people and their wellbeing are central to this purpose and HSE is therefore a top priority across all levels of the business, right up to Board level.
About the Role:
As a National HSE Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and embedding a proactive, high-performance health, safety and environmental culture across a 19-branch nationwide network. The focus will be to provide strategic but also operational leadership to ensure that the business remains not only compliant but continuously improving in line with best practice, emerging risks and evolving legislative expectations.
Key responsibilities will include leadership, strategy, risk management, compliance, system and process management as well as various projects and initiatives. Key relationships will include internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders such as WorkSafe NZ, ACC, Auditors and Suppliers.
About You:
Your background will include HSE management experience specifically within an industrial environment that has heavy machinery – it’s a must. Throughout your career you’ve gained a deep understanding of NZ HSE legislative framework and a strong systems knowledge. Demonstrated experience leading large-scale HSE programme initiatives and audits in a multi-site environment is a strong preference.
Apart from being an accomplished communicator and influencer, you’ll also have the ability to shift between the boardroom and frontline. A collaborative approach that engages internal stakeholders in a way that will help promote a HSE focused mindset is key – you can confidently evidence prior examples of this.
You must be comfortable travelling within Auckland but also occasionally visit sites that are spread nationwide. Whilst there is the flexibility to work one day from home, the focus is to be present and visible in the office and in the field.
