About the Role:
This is a pivotal opportunity for a Cloud Enablement Lead to play a strategic role within an innovative ICT team. The principal purpose of this role is to guide the organisation's cloud adoption strategies and ensure that the transition maximises the benefits of cloud services. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive knowledge of cloud platforms to empower teams, optimise infrastructure investments, and deliver secure and innovative solutions aligned with the organisation's objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and implement a holistic cloud enablement strategy that aligns with strategic product goals.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and technical stakeholders to uncover opportunities for cloud integration.
- Lead the development of comprehensive migration cases that highlight financial benefits and data control priorities.
- Foster relationships with internal teams and external cloud service providers to advance cloud strategies effectively.
- Monitor cloud performance metrics and advocate for best practices in cloud governance and security.
- Champion training initiatives that enhance cloud proficiency across teams.
- Provide strategic leadership on cloud-related initiatives to optimise costs and improve service delivery.
- Drive the adoption of FinOps methodologies to enhance financial accountability and cost efficiency related to cloud usage.
- Assess and recommend cloud service providers and technological solutions that align with strategic business needs and objectives.
- Implement and maintain cloud success metrics that can be evaluated regularly to ensure continuous improvement and optimization of cloud resources.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to align development and release strategies with cloud capabilities, ensuring that the architecture is designed for maximum scalability and performance.
- Evaluate the security and compliance posture of cloud implementations, aligning with New Zealand security standards and privacy regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in cloud services, with proven success in transformative roles.
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities and the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Someone who comes from a technical background and done on prem to cloud migrations/ transformations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Deep financial acumen to inform decision-making related to cloud investments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and a knack for applying these in real-world scenarios.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure architecture, preferably with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience managing and optimising CI/CD pipelines and automated cloud deployments.
- Proven ability to enforce governance frameworks around cloud usage and expenditure, ensuring alignment with organisational policies.
- Existing certifications in relevant cloud services, Agile practices, or project management would be advantageous.
