Finance Business Partner

Apply
We’re partnering with a large, complex public-sector organisation to appoint a Finance Business Partner who enjoys working close to senior leaders and influencing decision-making through strong financial insight.
This role sits within a strategy-focused environment and acts as a trusted internal advisor, supporting senior leadership with budgeting, forecasting, business cases, and investment decisions in a highly visible portfolio.

The Opportunity
You’ll operate as an internal finance consultant, providing proactive, forward-looking advice while balancing strategic priorities, risk, and public-sector accountability. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, stakeholder engagement, and shaping outcomes rather than just reporting on them.

Key aspects include:

  • Developing and reviewing business cases and investment proposals
  •  Translating complex financial data into clear insights and options
  • Identifying risks, pressures, and opportunities and influencing decisions
  • Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes

About You
You’ll bring a strong mix of technical capability, commercial judgement, and relationship skills.

You will likely have:
  • CA qualification (CA ANZ or equivalent) with 3+ years post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner in a large or complex organisation
  • Public sector or government environment experience (highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and business case development
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Why consider this role?
  • Meaningful work that supports strategy and frontline delivery

  • Flexible working options
  • Strong emphasis on values, collaboration, and professional development
