About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established New Zealand insurer with a strong heritage and a clear focus on putting customers first. With decades of experience protecting Kiwi homes, vehicles and businesses, they’ve built a reputation for being responsive, reliable and genuinely easy to deal with when it matters most.

We’re looking for a confident, customer-focused Claims Specialist who knows how to balance empathy with sound judgement. Someone who can think critically, act decisively and guide customers through the claims journey with clarity and care.
  • Manage a portfolio of motor or home insurance claims end-to-end – take full ownership of claims from lodgement through to completion
  • Make timely decisions in line with policy wording, relevant legislation and Fair Insurance Guidelines
  • Update CRM database and ensure accurate documentation throughout the claim lifecycle
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and online channels 
  • Work closely with assessors, investigators and suppliers to ensure service standards are met

What You’ll Bring 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in claims required (motor or home insurance)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • A natural ability to build rapport and influence through thoughtful questions and genuine empathy
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Confidence to make decisions and have challenging conversations when needed
  • A risk-aware mindset and understanding of insurance legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfort working across multiple systems and technology platforms
  • Resilience, accountability and a willingness to take ownership
