About the Opportunity
- 12-month fixed-term Assistant Accountant role supporting BAU during a major Oracle ERP implementation
- Broad exposure across month-end, journals, reconciliations, AR, and IFRS16 leasing
- Join a compact, collaborative finance team in a well-established transport organisation
- Work across Sage, Esker and Oracle during an exciting system transition
- Potential for extension or longer-term opportunity depending on project needs
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting month-end processes including journal preparation and reconciliations
- Weekly payment processing and bank reconciliations
- Assisting with accounts receivable
- Assisting with GST & FBT filings and some audit preparation
- Supporting budgeting processes and financial reporting
- Administering depreciation and assisting with IFRS16 leasing
The first week of month-end will be busy - ideal for someone who enjoys structure, pace and ownership.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience
- At least 1 years’ experience working within a New Zealand finance environment
- Solid month-end exposure – journals, reconciliations, accruals & prepayments
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups essential)
- Experience working across multiple systems (Sage/Oracle advantageous)
- Proactive, grounded and adaptable - able to “figure it out” in a dynamic environment!
