About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established New Zealand technology consultancy delivering practical, high-impact digital solutions across Auckland and nationwide.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mobile Technical Lead to take ownership of how mobile solutions are designed, built, and delivered.
You’ll play a key role across a range of digital initiatives, leading the development of modern, user-centric mobile applications while shaping technical direction and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
You’ll bring a strong mobile engineering background alongside a pragmatic consulting mindset, balancing hands-on development with leadership, working closely with stakeholders, and guiding teams toward scalable, maintainable solutions.
This is a senior role with strong autonomy, where you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the wider engineering practice through mentoring, technical leadership, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the design and delivery of modern mobile applications
- Developing cross-platform solutions using React Native and Flutter
- Shaping scalable mobile architecture, including modular design and state management
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers
- Working closely with clients and stakeholders to translate requirements
- Ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and performant solutions
- Integrating mobile apps with backend systems via APIs
- Contributing to presales and client-facing delivery engagements
- Driving best practices across development, testing, and delivery
- Collaborating with designers, developers, and project teams
The Technology Stack
You’ll be working across a modern, cross-platform mobile environment where you can influence both technical direction and architectural decisions.
- Lead development across React Native (core), with exposure to Flutter
- Shape scalable mobile architecture, including modular design and state management approaches
- Build and integrate with cloud-based services (Azure) and backend systems via APIs
- Work within a CI/CD-driven environment using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
- Collaborate across a modern frontend ecosystem (TypeScript, React and related frameworks)
- Contribute to backend and API design, including .NET and serverless components
- Drive quality and performance, including testing, optimisation, and engineering standards
- Operate in an Agile delivery environment focused on continuous improvement

- Experience with Flutter
- Exposure to Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
- Automated testing frameworks
- Backend/API development experience
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks
- CI/CD pipeline experience
