Introduction
Kura Toa is an expression of Ngāti Toa Rangatira aspiration and leadership in education. Grounded in tikanga and identity, and designed for the future, this kura is part of a long-term commitment to reshape pathways for tamariki and rangatahi.

With a personalised, bilingual learning model, Mauri Ora wellbeing framework, and strong iwi infrastructure through Puna Mātauranga and Te Pikau o te Rangi to support leaners, Kura Toa connects learning, identity and real-world opportunity.

It is a place where rangatahi are coached into their futures, not fitted into a system.

The Role
The Tumuaki is the founding educational leader, responsible for bringing this vision to life with the support of Ngāti Toa.

This includes establishing the kura for opening, shaping culture and systems, and leading a distinctive learning rhythm where mornings focus on knowledge, afternoons on application, and Fridays on applied hauora through Mauri Ora.

It is a role that sits at the intersection of kaupapa Māori, innovation, and delivery, with accountability for meaningful outcomes for learners, whānau and iwi.
