About the Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to join a successful NZ owned and operated business with a strong national presence.
We are looking for someone to come into the business on an initial 3-month contract term, to support the CFO and take over the role of Accountant.
A key role within the finance team you will be responsible for:
- Owning the month-end close, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet, and board reporting packs on time
- Managing Work in Progress (WiP), accruals, and journals to ensure financials reflect true project and business performance
- Overseeing cashflow, banking, and reconciliations, providing clear visibility of liquidity and ensuring all transactions are processed accurately
- Supporting AP/AR and claims processing, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
What You’ll Bring
- The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in a similar broad accounting role and will likely be CA / CPA qualified or similar (or well on their way to completing it).
- It will be really helpful if you have had previous exposure to the construction / civil engineering industry and have experience with WiP accounting.
- Great communication skills and good learning agility is needed to be able to add value and take ownership quickly.
