About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Data Modelling & Insights Specialist to support the development of critical analysis for a significant public-sector transformation programme.

This role will be responsible for reviewing and developing the models and projections that underpin business cases and investment decisions. Key outputs will include forecasting, cost and benefit modelling, population-based modelling, and the development of a strong evidence base to support future programme decisions.

You’ll also play a lead role in shaping data collection requirements for a major upcoming national event, ensuring new data can be used to update and strengthen existing models and projections.

Working across Data & Insights, Finance and Programme teams, this is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who can combine strong technical modelling capability with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain the evidence base supporting business cases, including strategic, economic and benefits analysis
  • Design, build and maintain forecasting, cost, benefit and population-based models
  • Develop robust assumptions and projections to support investment decision-making
  • Lead programme input into data collection planning to ensure future modelling requirements are met
  • Analyse large and complex datasets and translate findings into meaningful insights
  • Work closely with Data & Insights, Finance and Programme stakeholders
  • Present complex analysis clearly to senior leaders, governance groups and decision-makers
  • Ensure modelling and reporting meets appropriate privacy, security, quality assurance and data governance standards
What You’ll Bring 
  • A tertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Analytics or a related discipline
  • Strong experience building statistical, forecasting, simulation or economic models
  • Advanced analytical capability using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI or similar
  • Experience developing cost projections, benefits modelling or forecasting models
  • The ability to turn complex data into clear insights, recommendations and evidence-based advice
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
  • A sound understanding of privacy, data governance, security and the ethical use of data
