Mō te Tūranga | About the Role: 

As Kaihautū, you’ll support and work closely with the Chief Executive providing strategic leadership and ensure that services are delivered to the highest standards while fulfilling Barnardo’s mission and core values. With responsibilities across the organisation, you’ll strengthen Barnardos Aotearoa Māori development and commitment to their tangata tiriti, and tangata whenua kaupapa.  You’ll ensure the strategic direction, goals and plans are understood and achieved through kotahitanga. You’ll also ensure te ao Māori is fully integrated and visible in organisational culture, policies, systems, and service delivery. With responsibility for te pou e wha (the Māori strategy) you’ll champion ao Māori perspectives and associated relationship.


Mōu | About You: 

We’re searching for a proven senior leader with expertise designing and delivering cultural competency models that deliver services to tamariki and whānau.  Fluency in te reo Māori, and deep knowledge of mātauranga and tikanga is required, and your respect for te ao Māori will be central to you.

Ka raua atu ki ā rātau mahi ko ngā ratonga hapori, ko te ako kōhungahunga, ko te hapahāpai hoki i te waiora tamariki. Hei ia rā, ka mahi ki te whakapanoni i ngā oranga o ngā tamariki kia pai ake, kia toitū anō hoki.


Mō te Tūranga:

Mōu ka noho mai hei Kaihautū, ka tautoko, ka āta mahi tahi koe ki te Tumu Whakarae ki te whakawhiwhi ārahitanga rautaki, ki te whakarite hoki tērā ka eke ngā ratonga ki te tino taumata ka taea me te whakatutuki i te whāinga me ngā uara o Barnardo. Ka whai kawenga koe puta noa i te whakahaere, ka whakakaha koe i ngā mahi whakawhanake Māori o Barnardos Aotearoa me te ū hoki ki ngā kaupapa tangata tiriti, tangata whenua hoki.
