About the Role:
As General Manager, you’ll take the reins of day-to-day operations, driving performance across financial, operational, health & safety, and customer experience functions. You’ll be the central leader of a talented team of 45, setting direction, inspiring performance, and steering the business into its next phase of growth.
You’ll work closely with the business owners, playing a pivotal role in executing strategic plans and identifying new revenue opportunities and partnerships. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of operational expertise, commercial insight, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the business across operations, financial performance, customer delivery, and health & safety
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture aligned with company values
- Drive business development and explore new growth avenues
- Strengthen customer relationships and industry partnerships
- Provide strategic and commercial oversight, including P&L accountability
- Champion operational excellence through process improvements and innovation
About You:
We’re looking for an energetic, commercially savvy leader with a passion for operational excellence and team culture. You’ll be a strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up your sleeves—and you’ll have the credibility to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ideally, you’ll come from construction, civil infrastructure, piling, or engineering, and bring proven experience in scaling businesses and delivering service excellence.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure or construction, with 5+ in senior leadership
- A track record of building strong, high-performing teams and cultures
- Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility
- Proven ability to grow and diversify revenue streams
- A values-driven leadership style with exceptional communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- An established network and reputation within the New Zealand industry
