About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to help shape the future of quality engineering within a leading New Zealand financial services organisation.
This is a rare opportunity to join a team investing in modern testing practices where you’ll have the autonomy to build automation capability, influence engineering standards, and embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
What you’ll be Doing
Working alongside Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts in an Agile environment, you’ll help drive a proactive approach to quality.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and evolving UI automation frameworks using Playwright
- Designing automated test strategies that improve release confidence
- Performing API, SQL and end-to-end testing across complex business processes
- Embedding quality practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Supporting regression, functional and non-functional testing
- Contributing to CI/CD and continuous testing initiatives
- Partnering with engineering teams to improve delivery outcomes
- Exploring new approaches, including AI-assisted testing tools
About You
You’re a Quality Engineer or Senior Test Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving processes and having a genuine impact on how software is delivered.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience across software testing or quality engineering
- Strong automation testing capability
- Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or similar frameworks
- Solid API testing and SQL skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Azure DevOps experience
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence technical stakeholders
Experience that would be highly regarded:
- Financial services, wealth management or investment platform experience
- CI/CD pipeline integration
- Performance or non-functional testing
- C# / Visual Studio exposure
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve testing practices
