About the Company:
Eat My Lunch is a social enterprise on a mission to ensure that no kiwi kid goes hungry at school.
In the last 5 years they have experienced massive growth and using a ‘Buy One. Give One’ model, they’ve made and delivered over 1.5 million lunches to customers and Given another 1.6 million lunches to kiwi kids in need. They currently provide ~2,000 lunches every school day to kids in Auckland and Wellington.
Eat My Lunch has won a tender for the Government’s Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches Programme, with the contract set to enable the business to provide lunches for approximately 16,500 Kiwi kids a day from next year; equating to 3.3 million lunches provided for children in 2021.
The announcement follows the last budget round, in which the Government committed to feeding 200,000 children a day in New Zealand in 2021 via a universal school lunch programme; an area of particular focus as many households experience heightened financial stress due to the impacts of COVID-19. The Eat My Lunch agreement will see the social enterprise providing lunches to schools across the Auckland and Wellington regions from Term 1 next year. About the Role:
The Eat My lunch brand is one of their biggest assets, so we are looking for someone who will take care in telling their story.
Reporting to the Head of Sales & Customer Experience you will have the chance to support all marketing initiatives and execute social and digital engagement strategies across their platforms and business: Buy, Give and Government.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Executing the marketing strategy with the support of an awesome boss
- Manage PR and partnership opportunities and effectively communicate Eat My Lunch activity to the general public
- Participate in identifying target audiences and their behaviour, drivers and interests, along with effective ways and channels to reach them
- Oversee the creation and development of content, templates and processes to build a marketing tool kit
- Manage ongoing website content and design reviews
- Plan, execute and oversee brand building and promotion opportunities through multi-channel integrated marketing initiatives
- Create and manage all social media campaigns
- Continued maintenance of Eat My Lunch website and optimisation of digital assets to gain maximum visibility (SEM, SEO), Google Analytics
- A willingness to jump in a car or on a production line to ensure no child goes hungry at school
You will have some experience in a marketing role and hold a relevant degree in Communications/Marketing. You’ll possess an understanding of PR/partnerships, the digital landscape including social platforms, best practice social and online engagement, websites and have a flair for creativity and story-telling to capture and relay business activities to customers.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to meet deadlines is a must to ensure messaging is clear, concise and accurately reflects Eat My Lunch and their offers.
A professional attitude and strong business acumen is essential in order to work with strategic partners and customers to collaborate on marketing campaigns promoting their Give work. You will also be happy to roll your sleeves up and become involved in aspects the business needs.
This role would suit either an up and comer marketer with a proactive and enthusiastic approach who would like a part time role working for a social enterprise so they can spend the extra time doing their own thing OR a PR/digitally savvy more senior marketer looking for a rewarding role at 30 hours to fit in other commitments.
