About the Role:
In this role you will be required to manage and provide effective and accurate payroll for the company who have around 450 employees. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare weekly and the monthly payrolls for all business units; consolidate PAYE for all payrolls and companies, preparing reconciliations for sign-off including year-end tax returns. There are 3 monthly and 4 weekly payrolls. Current payroll system is Chris21. You will also be required to oversee the general administration of the payroll system. This role will be to work with the current Payroll Officer while the company go through a payroll system implementation.
Other duties will include:
- Being the key contact for all payroll related queries and ensuring their prompt resolution
- Manage the payroll information systems relating to leave and leave liability, hours worked etc and prepare regular reports
- Contribute and support with payroll system implementation
In this role you will bring with you your solid knowledge of processing payroll and ideally have exposure to both Union and collective agreements. Naturally you will have an eye for detail and to be successful in this role you will have a robust understanding of NZ Employment legislation. You will be a whizz on Excel but also know your way around technology in general as you will get exposure to a system implementation during this contract. You will be comfortable with change and a changing environment give the implementation of a new system. Experience working with Chris21 advantageous.
You will ideally be immediately available to commence this fixed term contract and will be able to commit to the full duration of 12 months.
