The Chief Operating Officer of MOTAT reports to the Chief Executive/Museum Director.


About the Role:

This role is a key position on the Senior Leadership Team and 2IC to the Chief Executive. Effectively it establishes the sound organisational foundation for MOTAT to operate from and thrive off.

It enables the vision and development of MOTAT through a wide range of functions - from development of an excellent staff culture, health and safety, an enabling IT platform, fit-for-future operating model, financial sustainability, negotiations, legal support, and sound development of business cases for partners. The role also deputises for the Chief Executive on occasions.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Development and delivery of an effective and integrated Business Services strategy, which is reviewed and updated from time to time.
  • Updating and implementation of a Financial and Commercial strategy and MOTAT Business Continuity Plan, as per agreed timelines, which is monitored to manage the risks and outcomes of the organisation.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the delivery of all Business Services projects and deliverables, including Annual Plan and budgeting processes.
