Event & Partnerships Marketing Manager

About the Company:

Arvida is one of New Zealand’s leading retirement and aged care providers, with a network of 35+ unique, resident-led communities throughout the country. With a purpose to transform the aging experience in Aotearoa, Arvida places wellbeing, connection, and purpose at the heart of every village.
The organisation has grown rapidly and ambitiously over the past few years — including the strategic acquisition of new communities and development of new communities in new locations throughout NZ.  As part of its bold strategy, Arvida is investing in a purpose-led, customer-first marketing approach, with a focus on deeper local engagement.
The Brand and Marketing team has grown into a team of 7, including digital, communications/content/PR, marketing ops and local marketing managers. With a strong culture of collaboration, ideas, and momentum, the team is known for challenging the status quo and building energy around new initiatives.

Arvida's values guide everything they do:

  • Being There – Listening, connecting, and supporting others
  • In it Together – Collaborating, sharing strengths, and working as one team
  • Look for a Way – Innovating, doing what’s right, and making things happen

Why Join Arvida?

You'll enjoy:
  • Joining an ambitious, supportive team with genuine purpose
  • The ability to lead your own initiatives and campaigns
  • Collaboration with creative thinkers and industry experts
  • Variety, challenge, and visible impact in a newly created role
  • A workplace where innovation is encouraged and celebrated
  • The opportunity to help thousands of New Zealanders thrive

About the Role:

Reporting into the experienced GM Brand and Marketing, this is a newly created role, designed to sharpen Arvida’s focus on local area marketing — with a particular emphasis on community events, regional partnerships, and a more structured resident referral programme.

Working close with 2 Marketing Managers, this  role will be a key player in building local presence, enhancing the Arvida brand at community level, and ensuring marketing activity directly supports the sales funnel.
This is not a role about massive sponsorship budgets — it’s about clever, cost-effective local activation. It’s about helping communities put their best foot forward, showcasing the lifestyle and vibrancy within each village through meaningful, memorable experiences.
The successful candidate will bring a mix of creative energy, people focus, and campaign thinking — with the ability to own events end-to-end, assess opportunities strategically, and work closely with Village and Sales Managers to deliver results.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead local promotional events from concept through execution — including planning, creative, promotion, and post-event reporting.
  • Build talk-worthy, experiential campaigns that showcase communities to prospective residents and their families.
  • Develop and embed a refreshed resident referral programme with clear branding, communications, and tracking to drive performance.
  • Identify, structure, and manage local sponsorships and partnerships — using a strategic framework to ensure community and brand alignment.
  • Work alongside creative and media agencies to bring campaigns to life across traditional and digital channels.
  • Leverage internal support across the team — including PR, digital, comms, and marketing ops — to ensure integrated campaign delivery.
  • Provide marketing support to Sales Managers and Village Managers with empathy and clarity, balancing demand with strategic focus.
  • Be an advocate for data-driven decision making — ensuring initiatives are measurable, reported on, and continuously optimised.

About You

Arvida is looking for a proactive, ideas-driven marketer  with experience in events, partnerships and marketing, who’s excited by the opportunity to bring more energy, visibility, and meaning to local campaigns. This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment — where relationships matter as much as results.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • A confident collaborator who builds trust with stakeholders and enjoys working closely with local teams
  • A strong campaign thinker — able to concept and deliver multi-channel promotions with clear objectives and execution plans
  • Skilled in balancing creativity and commercial thinking — knowing how to deliver quick wins and longer-term initiatives
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple campaigns at once
  • Able to assess ROI, prioritise based on potential impact, and report meaningfully to stakeholders
  • A proactive go-getter! Comfortable with a degree of ambiguity — shaping this role and its systems alongside a growing, ambitious team
  • Passionate about creating real community impact — bringing people together in ways that reflect Arvida’s values
We are looking for:-
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, events, partnerships, or local area campaigns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of digital and traditional media channels
  • Experience working with agencies, sponsors, and diverse stakeholders
  • A driver’s licence and flexibility to travel nationally as needed
