We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to help create a new category of tools that support the next generation of the internet - the web of trust. You will join a team focused on building secure, scalable, and robust native mobile SDKs and modules that power a cross-platform digital identity ecosystem. This is an urgent contract opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to work on meaningful, emerging technology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop native Android SDKs and modules, focusing on BLE, NFC, and secure storage integration.
- Write clean, well-structured, and secure Kotlin code for mobile applications.
- Collaborate with engineering, UX, product, and site reliability teams.
- Deliver robust, production-grade mobile libraries with cloud integration.
- Maintain strong engineering practices and contribute to a collaborative tech culture.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from concept to post-production support.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial experience in mobile development (Android – Kotlin/Java).
- Proven track record of building secure, scalable SDKs or libraries that interface with platform APIs.
- Experience with Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, secure storage, and related native capabilities.
- Strong understanding of mobile-cloud integration, security, and performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Ideally available immediately or at short notice.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience working with cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g., React Native, TypeScript).
- Familiarity or interest in decentralised identity, blockchain, or cryptography.
- Prior experience with native modules or digital identity-related projects.
