We’re working with a purpose-led business looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong PHP experience to help modernise systems and build new features used by customers every day.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, working with legacy and greenfield systems, and being part of a supportive, down-to-earth team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building backend services and APIs using modern PHP (v8.2+)
- Enhancing existing systems while helping develop new product features
- Supporting your teammates through code reviews and shared problem-solving
- Collaborating with product and non-technical teams to bring ideas to life
- Working flexibly in a hybrid-agile environment
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in backend PHP development and system design
- Confidence working across legacy and new builds
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A people-first approach to engineering
Tech you’ll work with:
- Backend: PHP 8.2+, PHPUnit, Test-Driven Development
- Cloud/Infra: AWS (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda), Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
- Frontend: JavaScript and React
