About the Company:
Established in 2025 following the merger of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard Winemakers, Vinarchy combines Vin (the French word for wine) with Archy (from the Ancient Greek word for leadership). Together, it means wine leadership.
Vinarchy is one of the world’s leading dedicated wine companies and home to an incredible range of global brands led by Hardys, Campo Viejo and Jacob’s Creek.
Their quality wines offer something for everyone and every occasion – each bringing its own unique story to the world. They craft wines in Australia, New Zealand, Spain and South Africa, with their global sourcing footprint also spanning premium grape growing regions in Italy, Argentina, France, the United States and Chile.
Vinarchy will redefine wine by meeting the fast-changing needs of our consumers with new formats, innovative products, and experiences that welcome all into wine for moments of celebration and connection.
It’s a place where passionate people can do their very best work, break new ground and redefine the industry they love.
About the Role:
As Category Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing Vinarchy’s category strategy within the New Zealand market. Based in Auckland and reporting to the Head of Category, you’ll act as a key business partner to internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring our strategic thinking is underpinned by robust insights and data-driven recommendations.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Category Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of our category vision, embedding best-practice thinking across the organisation.
- Insight & Analysis: Leverage market, customer, and shopper data to identify commercial opportunities and risks, delivering clear and actionable insights.
- Category Activation: Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Shopper, and Brand Marketing to build persuasive selling stories that drive in-market execution.
- Customer Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, using insights to shape joint business plans and inform decision-making.
- Data & Reporting: Create and maintain accurate, visually effective reporting dashboards to support internal performance tracking and customer presentations.
- Research Initiatives: Co-develop business questions with internal and external stakeholders to guide focused, impactful research efforts.
- Vendor Management: Support partnerships with third-party data and insights providers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires a balance of strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. You'll be empowered to challenge the status quo, contribute to commercial outcomes, and help Vinarchy lead the wine category forward.
About You:
You bring a sharp analytical mind, commercial acumen, and a collaborative approach. You love to seek deeper insights through thoughtful questions and data-driven thinking.
You’ll likely have:
- 2–5 years’ experience in category development, insights, or a related commercial function within FMCG
- A proactive, curious mindset and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for a range of stakeholders
- Strong experience working with data tools such as NIQ, Circana, or similar platforms
- Experience creating and managing reports, dashboards, and presentations that support decision-making and influence outcomes
- Solid planning and organisational capabilities, able to manage multiple priorities with a high attention to detail
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or planogramming software would be advantageous but not essential.
If you're passionate about turning insight into action and ready to make a real impact in one of the world's leading wine companies, we’d love to hear from you.
This is your opportunity to step into a key commercial role and help shape the future of category leadership at Vinarchy.
