An exciting Safety and Compliance Manager position has arisen to join Resene Paints at their Head Office in the Hutt Valley. As the Safety and Compliance Manager, you will lead a small team, and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Resene Paints continues to foster a culture of safety excellence. You will be responsible for developing systems and processes that enhance a culture of safety and compliance while also providing guidance and support to staff at all levels.
More about what you will be doing in this role:
It’s an exciting time to join Resene because you will be given the opportunity to be proactive and work on initiatives that will enhance health and safety processes within the organisation. You will:
- Roll out improvements to the ecoPortal system and provide training to staff to ensure the positive enhancements are embraced by all.
- Champion a culture of safety excellence by role-modelling positive behaviours and actions.
- Provide comprehensive reports for the Board of Directors and Heads of Departments.
- Review and enhance existing systems and procedures related to health and safety legislation.
- Collaborate with external agencies, such as auditors and specialists, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to connect across the business to understand where they can make the most impact and ensure any new initiatives and processes are effectively embedded across the organisation. You will bring:

- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- The ability to coach and share your knowledge with others.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
- Experience in auditing, inspection, and monitoring.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
