About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join a well-established, product-led organisation (part of a larger group) with a genuinely close-knit engineering team in Auckland.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across backend, frontend and cloud—starting with a sensible onboarding runway (small BAU tasks/bug fixes) and then moving into bigger build and migration projects as you get up to speed. The team rotates engineers across product streams depending on project needs, so there’s good variety and plenty of opportunity to learn.
The Tech Stack
You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in most of the below is ideal:
- PHP + Laravel (core backend)
- MySQL
- React + Next.js (modern frontend work)
- AWS (including EC2 and S3)
- Nice to have: Docker, Bitbucket / Atlassian / Confluence
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs in PHP/Laravel
- Deliver frontend features using React and Next.js
- Work with AWS-hosted applications (EC2/S3 and related services)
- Start with BAU work to learn the systems, then take ownership of larger pieces of work
- Contribute in an agile, cross-functional environment and help keep projects moving
About You
We’re open to strong intermediate to senior engineers - what matters most is capability and attitude.
- Solid commercial experience building web applications
- Comfortable working end-to-end (or backend-leaning with strong frontend ability)
- Practical AWS experience in a production environment
- Collaborative, communicative, and happy working in a smaller team where your contribution is visible
- Enjoys ownership and can step into a project lead style of working when needed
Salary & Benefits
- $115,000 base salary
- Excellent benefits, including standout travel-related perks/discounts
- Supportive team environment with variety and long-term growth
