About the Opportunity
An established, high-growth New Zealand technology business with a global footprint is looking for an experienced Business Partner to provide commercial finance leadership across its New Zealand operations.
This is a highly visible role focussed on helping leaders improve performance, make better decisions and translate strategy into measurable outcomes. You will also play an important part in the organisation’s finance transformation, moving finance from retrospective reporting towards proactive, data- and AI-enabled business partnering. You will translate complex financial and operational information into clear, practical recommendations that help leaders take action and improve performance.
About the Role
Working closely with senior operational and commercial leaders, you will:
- Lead forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting
- Provide commercial support across P&L performance and margin analysis
- Analyse revenue, customer profitability and operational performance
- Support pricing decisions, business cases and contract negotiations
- Review customer retention, renewals, churn analytics
- Lead monthly performance reviews and identify improvement opportunities
- Strengthen reporting and insights using automation and AI
What You’ll Bring
You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with the business and influencing decisions.
Ideally, you will bring:
- CA, CPA, ACA or equivalent qualification
- At least eight years of relevant commercial finance experience
- Strong business partnering, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in technology, SaaS or subscription-based environments
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Power BI or broader data analytics experience
- An interest in using AI and automation to improve finance processes
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach
You will also be comfortable partnering with executive leaders whilst also getting into the detail behind revenue, margin, customer behaviour and operational performance.
