About the Role:
This Category Manager role can be based anywhere in New Zealand but preferably Auckland based.
As a Category Manager your role will be to develop and execute category strategies:
- Perform category management of one or more categories.
- Develop, implement, and execute the formal category and sourcing strategies and plans for assigned categories.
- Understand market trends for assigned categories.
- Connect with local and international expert advisory groups for assigned categories.
- Work closely with the Procurement Managers/ Specialists to deliver the category/ sourcing plans.
- Ensure all category and sourcing strategies are agreed and supported by key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate programme for Supplier Relationship Management for the assigned categories/ portfolio of suppliers.
- Contribute to procurement strategy across specific sub-categories, including prioritisation of initiatives.
About You:
You will undoubtably have extensive commercial or procurement category management experience and have proven negotiation and contract management experience preferably within a complex organisation. Your exemplary interpersonal communication skills will be clear, and you will embrace working collaboratively for the wider good.
