Mō te tūranga  | About the Role:

NZCER is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead their commercial business and financial activities. The Tumu Pakihi me te Pūtea | General Manager Business and Finance will play a pivotal role in enabling NZCER to achieve outstanding performance and financial sustainability. Their leadership will be instrumental in driving growth, providing strategic financial perspectives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:
 

  • Maintaining financial oversight of business units
  • Providing strategic financial input to new product and business development
  • Overseeing all financial operations and managing finance kaimahi
  • Identifying new business and funding opportunities
  • Leading improvements in financial systems and processes
  • Delivering monthly financial reports to senior leadership and board committees
  • Preparing year-end financial reports and coordinating audit processes
  • Overseeing and improving contract management processes
  • Ensuring compliance with financial, statutory, and legislative requirements
  • Managing NZCER's business support kaimahi and the property function

Mōu | About you:

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
 
  • Extensive experience in Senior Business Leadership roles
  • Strong commercial background is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and interest in the Education sector
  • Understanding of Not for Profit legislative environment
  • Fully Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
