About the Role:  

Agile Software Development and Methodology
You must have demonstrable experience of working in an Agile team and have functioned in some or all the roles listed:

  • SQL Database design
  • Requirements analysis and user story creation.
  • Software Development.
  • QA and Test.

Software and Infrastructure Security
You must be familiar common software security vulnerabilities and how to remediate or prevent exploitation of those vulnerabilities.  You will be able to develop processes for the identification of security weaknesses during the code QA process.
You will also have a good understanding of Internet and infrastructure security practices, with the ability to design and implement appropriate security controls as specified by the security architecture.

Product development
Core to the development of any application is the product that the application supports.  We expect that you will have had experience with product development process.  You will have had experience in:
  • Alignment of software development within the product development process.
  • Requirements clarification and management.
  • Integration and communication with the product development team

System Administration
The Toitū software development team is a small and dynamic team that manages all aspects of both software development and support.  You will be supported to contribute to the creation and management of system administration processes.  This experience may include:
  • Knowledge Management
  • Incident and Problem management (Bug fix and defect remediation)
  • Database maintenance and administration
  • Capacity and Demand Management.
  • Security and Access Management
  • Infrastructure and platform management

  • .Net programming experience using C#
  • Web programming experience including, Web APIs, ASP.Net and Javascript
  • Database development and administration in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Web standards and technologies (HTML5/CSS3/XML/XSLT/JSON) and web protocols (HTTP, REST, SOAP)
  • Code frameworks and libraries, including MVC concepts and tools, Entity Framework, Angular, JQuery, Bootstrap, react.js, vue.js;
  • Software engineering tools and utilities, including IDE’s, GIT source repositories, issue management, deployment automation tools (TeamCity Bit bucket, Octopus Deploy), testing, and design tools.
              Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft IIS

  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written, and able to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to others.
  • Who has a strong quality ethic and delivers quality in coding, in their interactions and other deliverables.
