Terminal Operator

About the Company:

Gull is New Zealand’s largest and fastest growing independent fuel retailer with the vision to lead the New Zealand fuel market in savings, speed and safety. The company champions Gull customers by keeping the oil giants honest. Unlike the big guys, Gull keeps things simple including our offices and overheads. That way, they can keep delivering the ‘Gull Effect’ and offer value for customers.

Gull operates a growing network of 122 service stations, of which 87 are unmanned sites. It is also the only independent operator with a vertically integrated fuel supply capability, owning a strategic import terminal located at Mount Maunganui.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Terminal Manager and working as part of an enthusiastic, tight knit team – this role helps to deliver the services, tasks and activities for Gull’s Mt Maunganui terminal. It’s a hands on role where you can be trained on the job and actively contribute in ensuring a positive, productive and high performing culture and site.

  • Terminal Services Delivery – managing incoming vessels and outgoing fuel delivery, always following SOPs and quality/health and safety policies.
  • Maintenance and repairs – as required to help ensure minimum disruption.
  • Environment, Quality, Risk, H&S – complying to all and ensuring strict standards are upheld
  • Reporting & administration – as required
  • Project management – alongside management and colleagues
  • Growth and continuous improvement – contribute your ideas!
  • Culture and engagement – promote, support and positively participate within the team

This is an awesome opportunity for someone who may or may not have direct experience but has the ability and ambition to learn the job and be a valued member of a supportive and committed existing team.

About You:

First and foremost, you’ll be a team player. Someone who likes to use their hands, learn on the job and be involved. Relevant backgrounds welcome, but the main thing is attitude, communication skills, multi-tasking ability and being a switched on, process orientated individual.
