Able is NZ’s leading provider of media access services - providing captioning and audio description to make sure content can be seen and heard by everyone. From media and news, through to the Olympic Games, Able provides this incredible service to some 880,000 deaf and hard of hearing people and some 180,000 blind low vision kiwis.

About the Role:

 

Reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for all aspects of people and capability. 

A team of approximately 40 staff members, Able are excited to be supported by this newly created part-time role – to assist the senior management team with all things HR - from recruitment, induction, training and development, enhancing culture and wellbeing, remuneration advice and other HR tasks.

About You:

 

You are an experienced HR professional. A trusted advisor who provides HR advice and support in a variety of areas. With your level of experience, you will have a detailed understanding of all employment related legislation and are clued up on People & Culture best practice.

You have the natural ability to build strong relationships from the get-go, and your communication style is warm, open, and understanding. You have confidence in the advice you provide and in turn the business has a natural trust and confidence in you.

You are enthusiastic, committed, and able to think outside the box, your work style is collaborative, thoughtful, and your “why” is people, it’s always the people – you go above and beyond with your kind nature to ensure every team member feels valued and supported.

You’ll look to come up with innovative solutions to deliver positive people outcomes within the business. Above all you will value the wellbeing of staff and will strive in this purposeful role.
