Project Manager
About the Opportunity This is a chance to join a well-known South Island organisation at a genuinely exciting point in their journey. They’re leaning into further technology modernisation and need a Project Manager who can help take ideas from “we should” to “it’s live, it’s working, and the business is using it.” You’ll be part of a small but mighty team high trust, hands-on, and close to operations. It’s a practical environment where people pitch in, decisions move quickly, and delivery matters. If you’re someone with drive who enjoys being visible in the business (rather than disappearing into project admin), you’ll feel right at home. The role is end-to-end delivery, but with a twist: you won’t be “just” a Project Manager. Because the team is lean, you’ll also bring a strong understanding of business analysis and scoping running workshops, mapping processes, clarifying requirements, and helping shape the solution before the build or implementation even starts. From there, you’ll keep ownership through planning, governance, risk/issues, vendor coordination, and change activities, making sure outcomes land and stick. The role is based in Queenstown, with an office in Wanaka and operational sites across the South Island/Great Lakes area. The expectation is a minimum of three days on-site/in-office (flexible across Queenstown/Wanaka/on-site), because being present and connected to stakeholders is a big part of how projects move forward here. What You’ll Bring You’ll have proven experience delivering projects end-to-end, and you’ll be comfortable putting structure around ambiguity building plans, aligning stakeholders, managing budgets and milestones, and keeping a clear view of risks and issues. Just as importantly, you’ll be confident doing the upfront scoping work: facilitating conversations, asking the right questions, capturing requirements, mapping current and future state processes, and translating business needs into clear documentation that technology teams and vendors can act on. We’re looking for someone who brings energy and momentum someone who’s not afraid to roll their sleeves up, get into the detail when needed, and take real ownership. Project certifications or frameworks (PMP/PRINCE2/Agile) are helpful, as is familiarity with tools like Jira/MS Project/Trello and process mapping tools such as Visio, but your ability to lead people and deliver outcomes will matter most. What’s on Offer You’ll be stepping into a role with genuine variety and impact spanning system evaluation and selection through to implementation and business change. You’ll work in a culture that values initiative, collaboration, and delivery, and you’ll have the opportunity to build credibility quickly through visible, practical wins. Next Steps? To keep things simple, we ask that all applications are submitted through this advert. We'll review applications as they come in and be in touch. Senior Project Manager
About the Opportunity This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, business-facing delivery role with a well-known South Island organisation at a genuinely exciting point in their technology journey. They’re accelerating their modernisation agenda and need a Senior Project Manager who can take initiatives from “we should” to “it’s live, it’s embedded, and the business is getting value from it.” You’ll join a small but high-performing team high trust, hands-on, and close to operations. It’s a practical environment where people pitch in, decisions move quickly, and outcomes matter. This suit someone who enjoys being visible and influential in the business, building alignment and momentum, and not disappearing into project admin. The remit is true end-to-end delivery across a varied pipeline, greenfield implementations, migrations, upgrades and business change with a strong emphasis on governance and stakeholder leadership. While you’ll have people around you, the team is lean, so you’ll also bring the maturity to lead the “front end” of work when required: shaping scope, clarifying objectives, facilitating workshops, mapping processes, pressure-testing requirements, and ensuring the solution is set up for success before delivery ramps up. From there, you’ll own the full delivery lifecycle planning, resourcing, budget oversight, risk/issues, vendor coordination, and change activities ensuring outcomes land and stick. The role is based in Queenstown, with an office in Wānaka and operational sites across the South Island/Great Lakes area. The expectation is a minimum of three days on-site/in-office (flexible across Queenstown/Wānaka/on-site), because being present and connected to stakeholders is a key part of how delivery succeeds here. What You’ll Bring You’ll have a strong track record leading complex technology programmes or large-scale projects end-to-end, and you’ll be comfortable bringing structure to ambiguity — building delivery plans, setting clear governance, aligning senior stakeholders, managing budgets and milestones, and maintaining a tight view of risk, dependencies and delivery health. Just as importantly, you’ll have the credibility and capability to lead scoping and discovery work where needed: facilitating the right conversations, asking the incisive questions, mapping current/future-state processes, translating business needs into clear documentation, and guiding vendors/technical teams toward a solution that’s fit-for-purpose. Proven success leading complex, enterprise technology implementations end-to-end (greenfield, migrations, upgrades, business change) Strong capability in project shaping/discovery: turning broad objectives into clear scope, outcomes, deliverables and measurable success criteria Confidence facilitating senior stakeholder workshops and steering groups; able to drive decisions, alignment and accountability Strong vendor and partner management: selection support, SOW oversight, delivery coordination and performance management Comfortable operating in a lean environment where you’ll “roll up your sleeves” and fill gaps to keep momentum (without losing strategic view) Ability to flex into business analysis when required: requirements elicitation, process mapping, translating needs into clear documentation Calm under pressure with strong judgement able to manage ambiguity, competing priorities and fast-moving delivery environments We’re looking for someone with presence and momentum a calm operator who can lead through influence, drive decisions, and take genuine ownership. Project frameworks/certifications (PMP/PRINCE2/Agile) are helpful, as is comfort with delivery tooling (e.g., Jira / MS Project) and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio), but your ability to lead people and deliver results will matter most. What’s on Offer You’ll step into a role with real breadth and impact - spanning system evaluation and selection through to implementation and business change and you’ll have the autonomy to deliver visible, practical wins quickly. You’ll be working in a culture that values initiative, collaboration and delivery, with close access to decision-makers and stakeholders. If you’re excited by variety, pace, and the chance to make technology “real” in the day-to-day of the business, this is a compelling next step. Next Steps?
