Lead Data Consultant

Apply

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Data Consultant to join an established Data & Insights team in a hands-on role with a strong data engineering focus.
You’ll lead the end-to-end build of modern data platforms and pipelines designing solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and genuinely production-grade. Working closely with client stakeholders, solution architects and delivery teams, you’ll translate requirements into clear engineering scope and drive delivery through to outcomes that enable reporting, analytics and AI use cases.
While Microsoft Fabric is a key part of the current delivery roadmap, we’re also open to candidates with strong experience across modern platforms such as Fabric, Databricks and/or Snowflake (plus related Azure services). Strong engineering fundamentals matter most.

About the opportunity
This is a priority hire within a team that values delivery excellence and a sustainable pace of work. You’ll work on a range of enterprise projects and have real ownership across discovery, solution walkthroughs, delivery planning, and technical leadership.
You’ll be responsible for:
•    Leading the design, build and optimisation of data pipelines (lakehouse + warehouse patterns)
•    Building robust transformations and curated data layers (e.g., medallion / bronze-silver-gold)
•    Writing clean, maintainable SQL and Python (PySpark where relevant)
•    Implementing testing, monitoring, validation, and performance tuning
•    Applying strong Git / CI/CD / DevOps & DataOps practices
•    Mentoring team members and uplifting delivery capability
•    Communicating progress, risks and dependencies clearly to stakeholders

What’s on offer
You’ll join a highly capable consulting-style environment with strong standards, good support, and genuine flexibility.
What you can expect:
•    Hybrid working (minimum 2 days in-office)
•    Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
•    Medical insurance (fully subsidised for employees, discounted for immediate family)
•    Enhanced parental leave (top-ups + return-to-work incentive)
•    Volunteer days, referral incentives, wellbeing support (EAP), flu vaccinations
•    Ongoing learning and professional development
