Lead Data Consultant

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Data Consultant to join an established Data & Insights team in a hands-on role with a strong data engineering focus.
You’ll lead the end-to-end build of modern data platforms and pipelines designing solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and genuinely production-grade. Working closely with client stakeholders, solution architects and delivery teams, you’ll translate requirements into clear engineering scope and drive delivery through to outcomes that enable reporting, analytics and AI use cases.
While Microsoft Fabric is a key part of the current delivery roadmap, we’re also open to candidates with strong experience across modern platforms such as Fabric, Databricks and/or Snowflake (plus related Azure services). Strong engineering fundamentals matter most.


About the opportunity
This is a priority hire within a team that values delivery excellence and a sustainable pace of work. You’ll work on a range of enterprise projects and have real ownership across discovery, solution walkthroughs, delivery planning, and technical leadership.
You’ll be responsible for:
•    Leading the design, build and optimisation of data pipelines (lakehouse + warehouse patterns)
•    Building robust transformations and curated data layers (e.g., medallion / bronze-silver-gold)
•    Writing clean, maintainable SQL and Python (PySpark where relevant)
•    Implementing testing, monitoring, validation, and performance tuning
•    Applying strong Git / CI/CD / DevOps & DataOps practices
•    Mentoring team members and uplifting delivery capability
•    Communicating progress, risks and dependencies clearly to stakeholders

About the Opportunity A major, highly-regarded enterprise is investing heavily in transformation and is looking for a senior Change leader to set the direction for Change Management across a large portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who enjoys complexity, can influence at executive level, and is passionate about building a change practice that delivers real, measurable outcomes. This role sits within a Transformation & Delivery function and operates at an enterprise level to shape how change is governed, measured, and embedded across the organisation.
