Due to their current Financial Accountant heading overseas, we are now looking for someone to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and compliance, while playing a key role in supporting operational performance. This is more than a traditional reporting role. You’ll work closely with manufacturing and warehouse leaders, turning financial and operational data into practical insights that help improve performance, strengthen processes and support better decision-making. What You’ll Be Doing Lead monthly and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely reporting Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and operational reporting Maintain strong balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls Partner with manufacturing and warehouse teams to understand performance drivers Analyse production, labour, overhead, logistics and inventory variances Support budgeting, forecasting, capex and investment decisions Coordinate tax compliance including GST, income tax, PAYE, ACC and FBT Lead annual statutory financial statement preparation and support external audits Provide oversight across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets and general accounting Act as a key SAP business lead and support system and process improvements Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, automation and working capital This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting with genuine business partnering and wants to have an impact across both finance and operations. Strong financial reporting, month-end and year-end accounting experience Sound knowledge of statutory reporting, controls and tax compliance Experience partnering with operational stakeholders Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn numbers into useful insights Experience working with ERP systems, (SAP experience highly valuable) A continuous improvement mindset and confidence challenging existing processes - have curiosity and energy to streamline financial processes and implement best practices.
