Are you an experienced data and insights professional who is immediately available and highly capable in Tableau?
We’re looking for an experienced Data & Insights Analyst to join a complex organisation on an hourly rate contract through to February 2027. Wellington is strongly preferred, however we may consider experienced candidates based in Auckland or Christchurch.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can get up to speed quickly, work confidently with complex datasets and turn information into clear, practical insights for senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing
- Developing, maintaining and improving Tableau dashboards and reporting
- Analysing complex datasets and translating findings into actionable insights
- Using SQL and BI tools to interrogate and understand data
- Working with stakeholders to understand business challenges and reporting needs
- Providing evidence-based insights to support operational and strategic decisions
- Supporting modelling, testing and analysis of proposed solutions
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, analytics and business processes
- Communicating complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

- Strong hands-on Tableau experience – this is a key requirement
- 3+ years’ experience across data, analytics or insights
- Strong SQL skills and an understanding of data structures
- Experience building, testing and maintaining dashboards for business users
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- The ability to translate data into practical recommendations and decisions
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to hit the ground running in a contract environment
- Hourly rate contract
- ASAP start
- Contract through to February 2027
- Wellington preferred although strong candidates based in Auckland or Christchurch may also be considered
- Interesting, complex data and insights work with genuine organisational impact
