We thought we'd help you get to know us a little bit.

Tribe was started in our kitchen around about 10 years ago. Jenny and I were talking about what we wanted the company to represent and stand for. We were brainstorming names, and then Jenny said “Tribe.” I just knew then that that name was going to stick.

Why Tribe? I think I thought of the name Tribe because tribes are all about people, and we're all about people. Tribes communicate through storytelling, and we're really proud of the fact that we communicate strong, compelling employment brand stories through storytelling.

And from day one, what have we focused on? Bearing in mind it was just the two of us then, it is the same today as it was then. We focused on building deep partnerships with organisations, trying to get to know them incredibly well, and realising that culture fit was just as important as skill sets. That tied into the Tribe name as well.

Fast forward to today, we've got probably one of the largest, if not the largest, privately owned recruitment businesses in New Zealand. We're multi-brand. If it fits within your organisational structure, then we believe we can find the talent for it. We're incredibly proud as an organisation of the organisations that we work with and how we've helped strengthen their businesses through what we do.

And what sets us apart? I think our quiet determination, commitment, loyalty to our clients and our candidates, and just leaving no stone unturned in everything we do. Not only with our external clients and candidates, but also with our own internal team.

We're really proud of the culture we've built here at Tribe. We've got some amazing people, and the strength of our leadership group is very high. The capability and depth of our consulting group is very high, and that's consistent feedback we get from our client companies, that our knowledge is particularly strong.
