Mercury NZ Limited appoints new Director
Russell Spratt, Tau Mai and Tribe Executive teams are delighted to announce the appointment of Rachel Taulelei as a Director of Mercury NZ Limited.
Rachel Taulelei’s appointment follows the retirement of Mike Taitoko, who made a valued contribution to Mercury’s relationships with iwi and Māori stakeholders during his tenure. Mercury Chair, Scott St John, said the appointment continues the strong foundation of trusted relationships the company has built with iwi and Māori partners.
“Rachel brings deep relational capital grounded in cultural integrity, partnership and mutual respect,” Scott said. “Her experience will ensure continuity of the meaningful engagement and insight that have been a hallmark of our Board’s connection with Māori communities and the regions in which we operate. This appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to partnership, sustainability and long-term value creation across Aotearoa.”
Rachel brings extensive governance experience to the role, holding directorships with Wellington Airport, The Warehouse Group, and ANZCO Foods, and serving as Chair of Sky Stadium for the Wellington Regional Stadium Trust.
Reflecting on her appointment, Rachel said:
“I am thrilled to be joining the board of Mercury. It’s at a time where power and critical infrastructure are top of people's minds - the challenges are immense and it’s a privilege to be able to be part of the solution”
