Tau Mai is proud to walk alongside Te Matatini

Tau Mai is proud to partner with Te Matatini to find their next Organisational Advisor and Policy Lead, in Te Whanganui-a-Tara - Wellington.

For many people, Te Matatini needs little introduction. The National Kapa Haka Festival is where whānau gather, where rangatahi find their voice, and where te reo and tikanga are carried proudly onto the world stage. Behind every festival and programme is a team of kaimahi who make it all possible. This role is about looking after them, and strengthening the foundations they stand on.

Tau Mai has been privileged to support Te Matatini through earlier stages of their growth, and it means a great deal to be trusted with their kaupapa again.

The role is a genuine chance to shape how a kaupapa Māori organisation cares for its people. Blending HR advisory, organisational development and policy leadership, it will see the successful person working alongside leaders and kaimahi to offer trusted advice on people and performance, and to develop the policies, frameworks and resources that guide everyday mahi.

Good frameworks are about far more than paperwork. When policies are grounded in tikanga and built with the people they serve, kaimahi feel safe, supported and able to do their best mahi. That strength flows outward to the kaihaka, whānau and communities Te Matatini serves across Aotearoa and beyond.

Orissa Plimmer, Kaitohutohu Whakawhiwhi Kaimahi | Recruitment Consultant at Tau Mai, shares what this partnership means to the team:

"Te Matatini holds a special place in the hearts of so many whānau, and we don't take lightly the trust they've placed in us. We're looking for someone who leads with humility, brings genuine people and policy expertise, and is comfortable in spaces where te reo and tikanga are lived every day. For the right person, it's a chance to leave something lasting for kaimahi and, through them, for our communities."

If you know someone who would be a great fit for this kaupapa, we'd be grateful if you shared this kōrero with them.
