Tribe Group, your summer recruitment partner

Summer is when you need contractors most, and when they're hardest to find. Leave is taken year-end deadlines don't move, and projects that need to land before February can't wait for a permanent hire. Tribe Group are here to help you keep your business moving while the sun is out.

That's exactly when you want a recruitment partner who's ready to move. Here's why organisations across Aotearoa call Tribe Tech and Tribe Recruit when they need contractors and temps over summer.

1. We already know the people you need

We don't start from a blank page when your brief comes in. Tribe works database-first: skilled contractors and temps are already on our books, pre-screened and reference-checked, and our consultants talk to them every week.

That matters most at this time of year. Many contracts finish in December, which means experienced people are lining up their next role for the new year right now. We know who's coming free, when they're available and what they're looking for, so we can put the right person in front of you before someone else does.

When the database isn't enough, we go further. Referrals, direct search on LinkedIn and SEEK, targeted social campaigns and, when it's needed, good old-fashioned legwork on the ground.

2. Two specialist teams, one partner

Most summer resourcing problems don't sit neatly in one box. A system rollout needs technical specialists to deliver it and support staff to keep the day job running. With Tribe, you get both from one partner who understands how they fit together.

Tribe Tech places experienced technology contractors, from a single specialist to a full project team. We're the people to call for ERP implementations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity, data and AI projects, application rollouts, and the programme and project managers who lead them.

Tribe Recruit places contractors and temps across the roles that keep a business moving: transactional finance, payroll, administration, reception, customer service and contact centres, executive assistants and coordinators. Our people already know platforms like Xero, MYOB, SAP, Oracle and TechnologyOne, so they're useful from day one.

"Contractors are often brought in reactively, once a project's already behind. The clients who get the most out of summer are the ones who talk to us early. We'll tell them straight what's available, what it'll cost and how quickly we can move." Says Steve Cotton, Head of Tribe Tech

3. We deliver when the pressure's on

We help you find your people - here's what it looks like in practice.

  • Numerous contractors in a tight market. One of Tribe's clients needed 13 full-time customer service contractors for its new Dunedin office, on three-month terms, in a small city with a limited talent pool. It was their first contract engagement with Tribe Recruit, after a previous provider hadn't delivered. Advertising was live the day after the brief, and the first two contractors started just three weeks later. The relationship has since grown across both contract and permanent recruitment.

  • Clearing a finance backlog. When Eroad needed to get on top of an invoicing backlog, Tribe Recruit supplied transactional finance temps who knew the systems and got straight to work.

  • Keeping the project moving: When Sky TV needed some expert data analysis and strategy, Tribe Tech were able to find the right person for the role, keeping the project on track and contributing to commercial KPI's.

4. We take the work off your plate

Over summer, your team is stretched enough. Bringing in extra people shouldn't add to the load.

We handle the admin. For temps, Tribe Group is the employer, which means Payroll, PAYE, holiday pay, KiwiSaver and ACC sit with us, and we manage timesheets.

We manage the risk. Right-to-work checks and Holidays Act compliance are covered, and we'll help you set up contractor arrangements properly from the start.

We stay close. Our consultants keep in touch with every placement, and we cover sick days and no-shows so gaps don't land back on you.

We fix it fast if it's not right. If a placement isn't working, we'll find a replacement quickly, without the drama.

"A good temp or contractor isn't just about skills. We screen for attitude and team fit too, because someone who gels with your team from day one is someone who actually takes the pressure off." Says Sarah White, Group Head of Growth at Tribe Recruit

When to brief us

The earlier we know, the more choice you'll have. As a guide:

For December starts and leave cover, brief us by mid-November. That gives us time to line up the right people before the pre-Christmas rush.

For January starts, brief us by early December. Contractors finishing up at year end are deciding on their next role now. Get in early and you'll have first pick.

Let's get your summer sorted

Whether it's one specialist for a critical project or a whole team to see you through the peak, we'll give you a straight answer on who's available, what it will cost and how quickly we can move.
