Ko te āhua o te tūranga | About the Role
As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how the organisation communicates with iwi, hapū, Māori communities, and the wider public.

You will lead day‑to‑day communications activity, including media engagement, website content, internal updates, newsletters, media releases, and communications planning. You will also support the delivery of major national events, contributing strategic communications advice and producing high‑quality content that reflects Māori values and perspectives.

You’re an experienced communicator able to create engaging, audience‑focused stories, with confidence in te reo Māori, sound tikanga practice, and strong cultural awareness.


You bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in internal and external communications
  • Strong writing and editing skills across multiple formats
  • Capability to develop and implement communications strategies
  • Experience managing media engagement and preparing media releases
  • Digital fluency across websites, social media, analytics, and content management systems
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

Ideal for someone who is proactive, flexible, and driven to uplift narratives with authenticity.
