About the Opportunity
Tennis Auckland is the Sport New Zealand‑recognised Regional Sports Organisation for tennis in Auckland. It supports 53 affiliated clubs, over 12,500 members, four public tennis facilities, and approximately 11,000 casual participants, and is responsible for the leadership, development, and growth of tennis across Central, West, East, and South Auckland - wow that's big on its own but is also responsible for delivering the ASB Classic!
We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner who thrives in a varied, hands-on environment and wants to be genuinely connected to the business they support.  
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be the engine room of a busy finance function; responsible for the transactional accounting and month-end close for Tennis Auckland and playing a key finance role across the ASB Classic. This isn't a back-office role - you'll work closely with operational teams across the organisation, preparing management accounts and contributing to sound financial controls and decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • End-to-end AP and AR, including supplier statement reconciliations, payment runs, and debtor management 
  • Reconcile bank feeds daily and monthly across NZD, USD, and Mortgage accounts 
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments 
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts reporting pack, incorporating variance commentary 
  • Manage liquidity, monitor cash balances, and recommend term deposit placements to optimise interest income
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payroll, including variable hour and casual employees 
  • Calculate, file, and pay all tax obligations including GST, PAYE, NRWT and WHT 
  • Reconcile and report on community grant funding in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow actuals and forecasts, and assist the Finance Manager with budgeting 
  • Administer the contracts register and coordinate lease and rental review processes 
  • Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and systems

What You’ll Bring 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role, including preparation of management accounts 
  • Demonstrated payroll experience, including variable hour and casual employees 
  • Experienced with Xero or a similar web-based accounting system 
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and internal controls 
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management and follow-through 
  • High integrity, discretion, and pride in accuracy and timeliness 
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills 
  • Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
