QA Automation Engineer

Apply
About the Opportunity
We’re working with a well-known New Zealand organisation with a strong brand and a genuinely purpose-led culture. Their digital products are used at scale, and they’re in the middle of an interesting period of change across their systems and ways of working.
They’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to strengthen automated testing across web and mobile. You’ll sit alongside a collaborative product/engineering team, helping improve confidence in releases by building and maintaining automation, tightening up regression coverage, and partnering closely with developers and product to catch issues early.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Auckland CBD, with a flexible hybrid setup (typically 2–3 days in the office).

What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years’ experience in testing within a complex digital/product environment, with at least 2 years focused on automation
  • Strong hands-on automation experience, including building and maintaining reliable, maintainable test suites
  • Practical experience with Playwright (core), plus comfort working in JavaScript/TypeScript-style automation patterns
  • Exposure to Appium for mobile automation (or the motivation to lean into it, if you’re stronger on web today)
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, and an understanding of how API checks fit into broader test strategy
  • Confidence working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows
  • Strong test design skills: translating requirements/user stories into high-value automated coverage, prioritising based on risk
  • A collaborative style, comfortable working closely with developers, product and design
  • Bonus: familiarity with observability tools like Datadog and using logs/metrics to speed up troubleshooting and improve test effectiveness
What’s on Offer
  • Salary around $120k (depending on experience)
  • Flexible hybrid working (typically 2–3 days in the office)
  • A role with real scope to influence automation approach and quality practices during a period of change
  • Work that’s meaningful and visible, improving reliability for products used by a wide customer base
  • A team culture that values curiosity, initiative, and people who like making things better without overcomplicating them
If you want, I can also tailor a tighter SEEK version (slightly punchier, fewer words) while keeping the same “not oversold” tone.

Infrastructure Architect – Identity & Cloud Platform

Infrastructure Architect – Identity & Cloud Platform Contract | 1 November 2026 – 31 July 2027 | $140–$150/hr This one needs a very particular blend. We’re looking for a senior Infrastructure Architect with strong Identity and Access Management capability, particularly within a Microsoft Entra environment, who can also operate across the broader cloud platform architecture. Identity is a major initial focus. The programme is taking an Entra-first approach to IDAM, covering workforce and customer/learner identity domains, lifecycle management, authentication, authorisation, governance and access controls. The role also has a broader remit across Azure/AWS cloud infrastructure, landing zones and Infrastructure as Code. You’ll help design the target architecture, produce HLDs and detailed designs, establish cloud and identity patterns, and support the Principal Architect with landing-zone and IaC standards. We’re looking for someone with: • Strong Infrastructure, Solution or Enterprise Architecture experience • Proven Identity and Access Management / Identity Governance architecture experience • Strong Microsoft Entra knowledge • Azure and AWS architecture experience • Experience designing cloud landing zones • Infrastructure as Code experience — Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or similar • Understanding of identity lifecycle management, access governance and enterprise authentication/authorisation • Experience producing HLDs and detailed designs • Architecture governance / ARB experience • Strong security and platform architecture awareness The combination matters here. We’re not looking for a generic cloud architect, nor someone whose experience is purely IAM. The right person will be comfortable operating across identity, cloud platform and infrastructure architecture. $140–$150/hr. Next Steps?
