Tau Mai Supporting Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa

Tau Mai, alongside our Tribe Executive colleagues, are pleased to be supporting Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa to recruit specialist and senior leaders across engagement, partnerships, analytics and executive support, with roles available to candidates in Wellington or Auckland.

As the national arts development agency of Aotearoa, Creative New Zealand does important mahi for artists and creative communities across the motu, through funding, advocacy and partnerships. We're grateful for the trust placed in us as it builds the team for its next chapter.

Tau Mai will lead the recruitment programme, with Tribe Executive supporting two senior leadership searches. We'll draw on our relationships and networks across te ao Māori, Pacific communities, the arts and the public sector to reach people with the capability, judgement and commitment these roles deserve.

Specialist roles

  • Lead Adviser, Engagement

  • Analytics and Insights Lead Analyst

  • Strategic Partnership Adviser, Pacific

  • Strategic Partnerships Lead Adviser, Development, Philanthropy and Commercial

  • Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive

Senior leadership roles

  • Head of Partnerships and Development

  • Pou Matarāe Māori

We'd love to hear from people with experience in stakeholder engagement, data and insights, Pacific partnerships, philanthropy and commercial development, or executive support, as well as leaders grounded in te ao Māori who can guide strategy at the highest level. A background in the arts and culture sector is valued, but a genuine connection to the kaupapa matters just as much.

Russell Spratt, Tau Mai Co-Founder, says "We value the opportunity to support Creative New Zealand. We're looking for people who understand the importance of the arts to Aotearoa and can make a real contribution to the mahi ahead."

This mahi brings together specialist teams from across Tribe Group: Tau Mai's cultural depth and connections with Māori and Pacific talent, and Tribe Executive's experience in senior leadership search. It's how we work best for clients across the public and private sectors.
