Head of Propositions and Insights

Apply
About the Opportunity
Public Trust is a purpose-led organisation that helps New Zealanders build and protect their legacies. As the business shifts to become more customer-led, they’ve created a new senior leadership role: Head of Propositions & Insights.
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, you’ll lead the enterprise view of what Public Trust offers, who it’s for, how it’s priced, and how performance is measured and improved. This role sits at the centre of major change — working closely with Marketing, Service Delivery, Finance (including Data/ Planning & Performance), Risk, Technology and Transformation to turn customer insight into clear priorities and decision-making.
Leading 2 direct reports (Propositions & Pricing Manager and Consumer Insights & Research Specialist). This role will work across Public Trust’s B2C and B2B offerings working within a well-established and engaged team.
Key focus is Public Trust’s retail customer business (wills, EPAs and related services), with exposure over time to Corporate Trustee Services and partnerships channels
  •  New, high-impact role created as part of a refreshed customer-led structure
  • Own propositions + customer insight, and influence the enterprise roadmap
  •  Lead pricing direction and governance (with specialist support)
  •  Highly collaborative role across senior stakeholders and delivery teams
  •  Based in Auckland, with flexible working (2 days in office minimum)

What You’ll Bring
This is a role for a senior proposition/insights leader who can operate in the grey — balancing evidence, judgement, and delivery reality. You’ll be confident moving stakeholders, creating clarity, and building a disciplined roadmap that the business will use.
  •  Senior experience in propositions/product, customer strategy/insights, or portfolio leadership in a medium/large complex organisation
  • Strong segmentation +research capability, with a clear “so what” lens
  •  Commercial confidence: able to assess pricing work and guide governance decisions
  • Comfortable shaping business requirements for digital/service improvements (not delivering tech). Bonus if you have led digital customer products.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, collaborating with the SLT, taking people on a journey.
  • A credible influencer with executives; collaborative, resilient and pragmatic through change
  • People leadership experience (you’ll lead a small team)
  • Proactive, resilient, values led but commercially driven
What’s on Offer
This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created “shape the future offer” role, with visibility and scope to drive real change — in an organisation doing work that matters to New Zealanders.
  • Competitive base salary
  • Build the propositions + insights function and ways of working
  • A purpose-led organisation with a strong transformation agenda
  • Senior partnership across Marketing, IT/Transformation, Data/Finance and Service Delivery
  •  Flexible working and a supportive senior leadership environment
  • L&D, wellbeing, birthday leave, get your will and enduring power of attorney sorted for free
